Question
If there was no human being in the universe, would time exist?
This is a variation of the old one about the tree falling in the woods. However, bear in mind time is fundamental to our concept of the universe. Yet, it is very subjective as well as objective.
Answer
Atoms would still decay. If a tree falls in the forest it makes vibrations in the air. Whether it requires a humans ears to interpret that as sound, or whether the ears of animals count too, is just an opinion. Time goes on regardless of who may or may not be measuring it.
